Herbert Weiss is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at The City University of New York, and currently Senior Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. His study of Congo’s independence struggle, Political Protest in the Congo (Princeton University Press, 1967), won the Herskovits prize.
