Saskia Sassen

Saskia Sassen is Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology and co-chair of the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University (www.saskiasassen.com). Among her recent publications are the article “A Savage Sorting of Winners and Losers: Contemporary Versions of Primitive Accumulation” (Globalizations, March–June 2010) and the books Territory, Authority, Rights: From Medieval to Global Assemblages (Princeton University Press 2008) and A Sociology of Globalization (Norton 2007). Her books have been translated into more than twenty languages.
